Organising and conducting Debate/Group Talks on Conservation of Fuel/Energy towards ‘Net Zero’ under SAKSHAM’2023, during the period – 24.04.2023 TO 08.05.2023’’ .

A brief Report

SAKSHAM is an annual flagship event of PCRA of one-month duration. It is held to sensitize citizens about the need of fuel conservation for health and environmental protection, as well as to help India reduce its reliance on crude oil imports. Petroleum companies like Indian Oil, BPCL organize the event.

Sahay Foundation was selected by Indian Oil, Kolkata to organise and conduct Debate/Group Talks on Conservation of Fuel/Energy towards ‘Net Zero’ under SAKSHAM’2023, during the period – 24.04.2023 TO 08.05.2023. The foundation conducted a one and a half hour programme in schools in South and North Kolkata, Paschim Medinipur and South 24 Parganas. More than 1000 students participated. 

Curation

The Foundation, with the help of Educhange Foundation, developed a specialized interactive content for communicating and spreading awareness among schoolchildren the need for efficient use and conservation of fuel and energy resources to minimise pollution and global warming and reaching the goal of ‘Net Zero’. The programme consisted of display of banners and posters on energy conservation followed by group talks, extempore and rapid-fire rounds. Impact was assessed and the programme ended with Sanrakshan Kshmata Pledge by students.
